Laura joined The Strategy Group as a senior advisor in 2022. She brings deep experience in strategic communications, cross-channel marketing, public relations, and content strategy.

Laura first worked as a reporter in Dallas, Texas, before moving to Washington, D.C., where she began a career in public affairs. She moved to Nashville in 1998 to join MP&F Strategic Communications where she stayed for nine years and rose to vice president.

Equal parts nonprofit and agency experience, her 30-year career has focused largely on recruiting diverse audiences to support and participate in workforce and educational programs for marginalized populations. She is particularly passionate about equity for those who identify as neurodiverse. Laura is also proud to have served as Chief Communications Officer for Nashville Mayor David Briley.

Most recently, Laura was vice president of marketing for Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, an $80M social enterprise spanning 48 counties. In addition to leading comms through the pandemic, she was proud to create the “Goodwill — It Just Feels Good” multichannel campaign and the new True Blue Rewards loyalty shopper program. She also managed a talented creative team and implemented significant paid and earned media campaigns to connect target populations to career training, education, and employment.
